I decided to keep the hair as it was and focused instead on making it look better through colors.
I chose the color green (because I thought the hair kinda looked like seaweed) and then I just went with it as the general theme.

At first I wanted to do a beach-background.. as if she had just swimmed ashore, but it didn't turn out very pretty
so I canned it and used a more abstract bg, but I kept the wetness.
